Swim Lessons Are Over

Tonight I realized I never posted about the end of swim lessons. The girls all did awesome and "passed" to the next level. The last night all of the kids were going down the slide, so our instructor asked the babies if they wanted to slide. Addison said she did (she went down the week before) and Cadence said she did. I was shocked! Cadence is not real big on slides of any kind, much less water slides. But she said she wanted to go, so I said, "Okay."

We got to the top of the slide and it was our turn. She started saying, "Mama first, mama first." I had not planned on going down the slide, but I did. A lifeguard stayed at the top and helped her down. She did it. I have no pictures or video, but I may try to post some from Grammy the next time we are at her house.

Swim Lessons Day 8

The girls went down the water slide today.

Baby Cadence had a great time going under. She also really enjoyed telling me, "You first, you first!" Then she would blow in my face and I would go under.

We are in our second week of swim lessons. We went home for the weekend and came back this morning. Here are a few videos Grammy took:

Swim Lessons Day Three

No storms today. We were able to get our whole swim lesson in.

Lyric practicing with the kick board. Story practicing "Superman" arms. Baby Cadence about to go under. We blow in her face before dunking her, so she loves to blow in our face. I think she actually enjoys making me go under more than going under herself.

Uncle Billy, Aunt Kendra and the boys came over for supper tonight. We decided to try to get a picture of all of the kiddos on the slide together. It worked out amazingly well! Everybody yell, "Hooray!" Even Baby Wade could do it.Cadence did a little reading to herself when everyone was gone. She has been around Grammy and her reading glasses too much lately. She had the sunglasses on, but was probably having a hard time seeing the book, so she decided to push them up on her head.

Swim Lessons Day 2

Storms rolled in about 10 minutes into our swim lesson today. Since they saw lightening we had to get out of the pool. They stood us all under the trees and gave us a safety lesson. They didn't discuss how dangerous it is to stand under trees in lightening. They mainly discussed water safety:-)

Swim Lessons

The girls and I are at Grammy's this week for swim lessons. Today was our first day. The big girls LOVED it and can't wait to go back tomorrow.

Cadence LOVED the water, but she didn't care too much for the teacher trying to tell her what to do. The first song we sang was Wheels On the Bus, which is one of her favorites, so she loved it. But, when it came time to sing I'm a Little Tea Pot it was a whole different story! She didn't like it and didn't want to sing it. She started yelling, "No, tea pot! BUS! No, tea pot! Wheels on Bus!" Luckily, I'm a Little Tea Pot is a pretty short song and we were soon moving onto something else that she liked:-) Overall, she had a good time and can't wait to go back tomorrow as long as the teacher doesn't tell her what to do.
