Happy Birthday Lyric!

Last year Lyric and I decided to start a new tradition of interviewing her on her birthday.  Here are her thoughts on her 9th birthday...  

How does it feel to be 9? 

It doesn't feel much different at all. It never really does, though when we were in that field today, where we had the picnic.  I had to hunch over to put Cadence on my back and I felt older and taller, but not very different 

How do you think you are different from a year ago? 

I feel like I'm closer to being a teen. I feel um um... I think I am different um I don't know why, but I think I like to be outside more. 

What do you think is the most important thing you have learned in your life so far?

What is your favorite thing about yourself? 

I like that I like animals. I like my legs too. Oh and my arms especially my left arm. I don't know why because I am right handed. I think I feel bad for the left.  It gets left out because the right hand gets to do everything.

What is your favorite color?
Lime Green, but I think I'm going to change it and go down a shade lower- not as light as lime green, you know a little darker
 What is your favorite TV show?
 I don't really know. I like Wizards, yea, I think that's it
 What is your favorite song? Artist?
Taylor Swift, We Are Never Getting Back Together and Starlight
 What is your favorite movie?  
Despicable Me or Monsters Inc and Wreck It Ralph
If you had a whole day to do anything you wanted, what would you do?
Um, good question...I think I would go into outer space and go to Mars or some other planet that no one has been to and prove that martians do or do not exist. If there was day left after that I would probably play with Hallie or read a book.
 What do you want to do when you grow up?

 A vet and a bug dr because I really think there should be such a thing as a bug dr

Do you think you will ever get married? 

 Yes

How old will you be when you are married? 

Um, I don't know... how old can you be when you get married. I don't know... I want to marry young you know not like 15, but 20 or 23. I don't want to marry old like 30.

What things make you happy? 

Reading, Hallie, saving bugs, and I like putting my phone on my dock and listening to Taylor Swift. That makes me happy.

What things make you sad? 

When I can't save a bug.

What is your favorite food? 

Probably fruit, I like other foods too, but I like fruit. My favorite fruit is probably strawberries, blueberries or apples.

What is your favorite book? 

Good question, I like a lot of different books. My favorite series is The Magic Treehouse and Creepover. I do like The Autobiography of a Stray that I am reading now, but I haven't finished it.

If you could change one thing about your life what would it be? 

I want to live in a different house and I want to have a dog- a pug or a beagle

If you could change your name, what would it be? 

Alex H Lenm (I think she has actually given this some thought because she didn't hesitate when I asked.)

What is something you would like to do this year? 

I want to get a new house this year. I want to start reading a new series- one I haven't read. I also want to make it to 2014-I don't want to die this year. Something I do not want to do this year is I do not want to break my toenail again.

Anything else you would like to say?

  I want to live to be 100. Always milk the goats when it is your turn and stay in school (hehe that's a good message for the children) [Funny advise coming from an unchooler]
