Summer Reading

I really like the way the library did the Summer Reading Program this year.  Last year, the kids had to read so many books or so many hours.  The girls participated, but we read so much around here it wasn't really anything different except for the fact that I had to try to keep track of how much they were reading.

This year, the library had 15 activities you could complete.  You had to complete at least five.  A few of the activities were to read for two hours, but there were others too.  Some were to attend the activities at the library, read a book online and one was to complete a recipe or craft from a book.

The girls checked out a craft book that had the idea for these little stuffed animals.  We finally finished them today.  They turned out really cute!

To participate in the program you had to complete 5 activities, but the girls completed all 15 because Lyric really wanted to win the grand prize- a trip to Dollywood;-)
I participated in the adult program.  Which also had different activities.  I found out our library has a service called Freegal where you can download five free songs a week!  Free music--awesome!

New Toy

We borrowed this toy from the family I work for and the girls have had so much fun with it!  Cadence is really loving it!

Swimming!

We took the girls swimming today.  

I recorded videos of all three girls doing different things in the pool.  Poor Story Bell spent forever trying to make a video of her teaching the audience how to do a flip in the water.  She did 4 or 5 different videos before she was happy with one.  When I uploaded the videos to the computer, I realized my phone was muted the whole time:-(  So, I have a bunch of silent videos!  But ironically, Lyric's was supposed to be silent:-)

Painting for Make a Wish

The girls were invited to a Make a Wish art party today.  They were so excited!

 

 Ice cream and painting, you can't beat that!

 I was at work, so Devon was the lucky one to take them.

 Lyric did a turtle with peace signs, that is so her!

 Story was planning to do Mickey Mouse, but ended up doing Hello Kitty.

 Cadence did a cat with LOTS of jewels!

The paintings are going to be in an upcoming auction for Make a Wish to raise money to grant more wishes!

Butt Signing

Cadence walked up to me tonight and said, "Mama, you want to read my butt?"  I turned to see Story written right across her hiney! 

Those two crack me up!  I didn't even ask what they were doing.  I don't think I wanted to know;-)

Cadence the Only Child

What did Cadence do while sisters were in Texas?

She went to a gig at Dave and Buster's to watch Daddy play

She had Daddy all to herself in the afternoons while Mommy was working.

She went to the library and threw pennies in the fountain.

She had a snack outside the library while waiting for Daddy to pick us up.

She did some birdwatching.

She went to members night at the zoo and had a great time with the goats!

Daddy set up a house for her.

Cadence really liked her sisters being gone.  She didn't want to talk to them on the phone and she didn't want them to come back at the end of their visit:-(.  But, she did have a HUGE smile on her face when we picked them up from the airport.

Texas or Bust

These girls spent two weeks in Texas this summer.  The left June 12th with Mimi J.

Bob sent this one of Story Bell's fancy hairdo.

They had a great time, but said they probably wouldn't be going back next year.  They thought two weeks was a bit long.

Little Miss Persistent

Story had been trying to master these monkey bars for a really long time.  Today, she did it!
