Story Time

I've started taking Coda to the toddler story time at the library.  She really likes it.

Today they played a listening game.  She was so cute lined up with all of the kids.

We usually go to the park afterwards.  Today someone had left some chalk.  She had fun drawing with it.

We played on the "telephone" talking to each other.

She did lots of climbing

and of course, had to swing.

It's not very often that she gets time alone with Mama, so I think this hour or so on Monday mornings is really good for her :-)

What Are These?

Story and I were going through a box of old pictures yesterday.  She held up some negatives and said, "What are these?"
That will make you feel old!

Halloween Play

We can't go into a store with out checking out the Halloween isles.
The girls love trying on masks!
Lyric is going to be The Man With the Yellow Hat (from Curious George).  We've been looking online for hat tutorials, but she came up with the brilliant idea of modifying a witch hat. I think its going to work great.

Coda was excited to find Captain Hook accessories.

We're going to Boo at the Zoo next weekend, so we've got to get the costumes done soon.  We're going to have The Man with the Yellow Hat, Curious George, Katniss from Hunger Games and a Mug of Hot Chocolate.

Silly Hat

Someone ate the last orange this morning.  Story found a new use for the bag they were in.  She wore it the rest of the day!

Cleaning Time

Lyric spent the morning cleaning out her snail cages.  She has one cage with adults and one with babies.  Some of her babies were ready to move to the adult cage.  These snails have been the best pet!  So easy!

Adventure Time

The girls decided to go on an adventure today.  It was rainy and cold, so they had to bundle up

I love that they let Coda join in!  She thinks she can do anything they can.

Story Time

I took Coda to the toddler Story Time at the library today.  They had a ballet dancer reading Ferdinand the Bull and teaching the kids some ballet.  It was super cute!
They acted like the angry madador

and they did horns to represent the bull.

We took a picnic to the park afterwards.  She brought Little Bob with us.

Fort Building

The girls built a huge fort behind the couches today using the couch cushions, pillows and blankets.

Coda even had her own room!  Lucky girl ;-)

Guitar Lessons

Lyric and Story started guitar lessons today.  This will be Story's second year taking them.  She's in the advanced class.
Lyric is in the beginner class.  She was not too thrilled about using Story's pink guitar, but wants to make sure she likes it before getting her own.

(Lyric made this cute collage with the PicCollage app)

They Can't Learn Anything From TV!

Today Lyric, Story, Coda and I went shopping.  Cadence wasn't feeling very well, so she stayed home with Devon.  She got some Dots candy when we went Trick or Treating.  They reminded her of one of her favorite Magic School Bus episodes.  Ms Frizzle and the kids made a bridge from Dots, toothpicks and popsicle sticks.
With a little help from Daddy she made her own :-)

Date Day

The big girls had History Club today, so Devon and I decided to go hiking for our date.  We went to Percy Warner.  It was a beautiful day!  I've been here many times and seen these stairs, but I've never been up them.

 It was quite the workout:-)

We took the 2.5 mile loop once we made it up the stairs.
 Someone started getting sleepy.
 That hiking is hard work!
She was not too happy about us being done and ending her nap, but my legs were jello:-)

Flat Gwen's Visit

The girls have been participating in a Flat Stanley group on Facebook.  We mail our flat to a family and get one in the mail in return.  This month we have had Flat Gwen visiting from West Virginia.
Story took her to guitar lessons.
We took her to the downtown library's homeschool day.
She helped Story work on her ink stamp picture.

She helped Cadence and Story dye paper.
Lyric took her picture with one of the tall buildings while we were downtown.
We went shopping for Halloween stuff and took her on a picnic with us.
We took her to a PowWow.

She played in the teepee with Story and Cadence and pretended to build a fire.
She posed with the girls and one of the dancers.
She joined us at the zoo for Halloween.  We dressed her as a ghost.

We all thought this skeleton was creepy, but Gwen really wanted to pose with him while we were at the zoo!
She joined us for a family night of carving pumpkins and a Halloween version of Scattergories.

She helped the girls bake Halloween cookies.
She even licked the beater!
Baking cookies was messy work!
We did shadow puppets.

We took her to Cumberland Park.  She enjoyed the see saw with Story
and had a turn with Lyric and Coda.
She went rock climbing with Story.
The girls posed with Gwen in front of downtown.
The girls LOVE to go up the glass elevator at the park!  They were excited to take Gwen up it!
It's hard to see her, but here she is on the pedestrian bridge:-)
Before sending her back, Story had to give her a ride on her unicycle.
We had a great time with Gwen and look forward to getting Flat Grace back soon:-)
