Happy Halloween!

We had two Cinderellas and a witch for Halloween this year. As usual my children did not want to pose together for a picture! I may dress them up sometime this week and try to get some better pictures of them.Devon had a gig in Houston on Saturday, so we decided to trick or treat in Bryan with Faith and Finley.
Faith was one of the girls from High School Musical. I don't know the movie, so I don't remember which one.
Finley was decked out in skulls.
We started out the night at a neighborhood festival where the girls played some games. Faith Meadow had her face painted. Lyric wanted her face painted, but she didn't have the patients to wait in line. The girls had a good time trick or treating. Cadence was SO cute! The first house we went to she was carrying a packet of Skittles in one hand and had her bag in the other. The man at the house reached out to give her a bag of M&Ms she held up her Skittles to give to him. I would carry her from house to house and when we would get to the next house she would say, "Go! Go!" and want me to put her down so she could go up to the door with her sisters. She would walk up the drive way dragging her bag behind her. At the end of the night she had three different holes in her bag. I'm surprised she didn't lose any candy! The girls posed in front of some one's house with their decorations. We had a lot of fun and got lots of candy!

Surprise!

Can you guess what this picture is?Let me give you a hint:
Did you figure it out yet?
Maybe this will help:
Have you given up yet? Let me explain, the first picture is the bathroom floor covered in powder. The second two pictures are a couple of the culprits. I failed to get a picture of the third culprit. She was not nearly as covered in powder... I wonder what her role was in this?
Devon was with the children all day today, but do you think this happened to him? No, it was on my watch! When I got home from subbing today he left. I was watching Oprah while folding clothes and this is how the children chose to entertain themselves!
When I was finished crying from laughing so hard Lyric and I were attempting to clean up the mess and I asked her why they decided to pour powder all over the bathroom. Her response, "Well mama, we wanted to surprise you and daddy. If we ever go to jail or get lost then you can come in here and look at our footprints to remember us."
First of all, I can think of a lot of other ways I would like to remember my children. But the real question is: why is the four year old thinking about going to jail?
A couple of close ups for your viewing pleasure:

Not Like That!

Story asked me to play with the Weebles with her today. I reluctantly said yes. Our little Story Bell is a little bossy when you play with her, but I agreed. Well, they have these little Polly Pocket type dolls that they play with the Weebles with. I sat down and pick one up. Here is how our playing went:
Me: "What's your name?" Story: "Holly."
Me: "Hi Holly, my name is Skip."
Story: "Her name is Lilly." (talking about my guy)
Me: "But she has a beard, I want his name to be Skip. I think he is a pirate."
Story: "If you are going to play with me you have to do the rules!"
And she wonders why I don't like playing Weebles with her.

Painting a Pumpkin

I saw this craft on some one's blog. Sorry, I don't remember where. You fill a paper bag with newspaper and tie the top, paint it orange and you have a pumpkin. We decided to let Miss Cadence paint with us today. Talk about MESSY!She did a few strokes on her pumpkin and then decided to paint her hand. Of course, she had to taste it! Touching the garage door was a must! (Yes, it came off...well most of it did.) She painted Lyric's leg for her.
So, Lyric painted her diaper. She helped.Lyric worked really hard on her pumpkin! She looks just like her daddy using that tongue to concentrate. Our pumpkins turned out pretty cute! Oh wait, that's not a pumpkin! Just a cute little four year old;-)

Halloween Muffin Tin

Sycamore Stirrings is holding a Halloween challenge Muffin Tin Monday, so of course we had to participate! We have a play date planned for Monday, so we decided to have our tin today.

From left to right: cat "chip", mummy dog, mummy dog, cat "chip", monster mouth, ghost "chip", cupcake, cupcake, ghost "chip", monster mouth, monster eyes, moon "chip", monster brains, monster brains, moon "chip", monster eyes

Here is a close up of the monster brains. Just a tomato with a string cheese face under the face were his "brains", avocado.

I saw the mummy dogs over on Picky Palate. Daddy actually made them. It took him a while, but the girls liked them. I think he would consider it worth the trouble. The monster mouths were also from Picky Palate. Hers were much cuter than mine, but man they were good! There is nothing like a Granny Smith apple with peanut butter! Throw in a few marshmallows and that just makes it better.Story helped me with the "chips". They are just tortillas cut out with cookie cutters. We brushed both sides with olive oil and baked them until they were crisp. Once done we sprinkled them with a little salt. They were really good.

The girls enjoyed their muffin tin. It was nice outside, so we all ate outside together. They were a little disappointed that Daddy and I didn't have muffin tins. We did have mummy dogs, I guess next time we will have to put it in a tin!

Monkey Girl

So, I am doing the dishes this afternoon and I look over and this is what I see:
Yes, Ms. Cadence was sitting in the chair. My first reaction was to move her-- she is too little to be sitting in the chair and if she falls it will be on the tile and that would be bad. My second thought is, I really want to get these dishes done and she is just sitting in the chair. How dangerous is that?
I quickly try to finish the dishes and a couple of minutes later I turn to check on her:
Yes, now she is on the table.
My first reaction is, I really want to finish these dishes and how dangerous is it to be sitting on the dining room table?
I'm kidding! I stopped the dishes to move the little monkey!

Muffin Tin Breakfast

Story woke up this morning and wanted pancakes. She also requested that they be served in a Muffin Tin Monday. She's two she didn't know it was Sunday, so she should change the name to Muffin Tin Sunday.

We decided to make pumpkin shaped pancakes. She wanted Easter eggs, but then decided since it was October she would go with the pumpkins.

Halloween Wreath

The girls and I made Halloween wreaths today. I got the idea from here. Okay, I have to be honest. I did most of it. They lost interest pretty quick, so Devon and I ended up drawing most of the faces on the ghosts and pumpkins. I'm sure you can tell which ones we did and the ones they did;-) We had enough ghosts and pumpkins to make two wreaths. Last week we did their footprints and hand prints and they were really into that part of it.

They took turns painting each others hands and feet.

Cadence didn't really know what was going on, but she was a little trooper.

Muffin Tin Tuesday

The girls asked for a muffin tin for lunch today. Devon made fun of me because he said I really like making them muffin tin lunches. I will admit I do like it, but they asked for it, it wasn't my idea!

Spaghetti Anyone?

We had spaghetti tonight. Cadence really liked it! Can you tell? Yes, she did actually get some into her mouth.

Muffin Tin Monday

Nothing too exciting today. Here is Miss Lyric's:(strawberries, 'L' shaped peanut butter and jelly, turkey hotdog, chocolate cake, grapes and Cheese Puffs) Miss Story's was the same except her sandwich was an 'S'.
By the way, I know the Cheese Puffs are bad for them and I would blame it on Daddy because he bought them, but I do have to admit. I am eating some right now as I type this.

Habla Espanol?

Miss Story Bell started Spanish class today. She was so excited! She looked so little sitting there and Lyric looked so big.Big sister really enjoyed having her in class and made sure she knew what was going on. After class Cadence decided she wanted to be a student, too! Yea, she knew she was cute!
