Halloween 2010

For some reason, I never get good pictures on Halloween.  I forget to take them, I forget the camera, the camera batteries are dead... Well, this year I couldn't find the camera.  I finally found it after Lyric and Cadence we already gone trick or treating.
Story couldn't go trick or treating, but the doctors said she could hand out candy if she wore a mask.  She didn't want to dress up as a ballerina witch with a mask, so she decided to be a surgeon.
She was very excited about giving out candy.
The pictures of Lyric and Cadence were blurry, but you can still see their costumes.
Lyric was a super model and Cadence was a witch again.

When the girls got back from trick or treating we had a Halloween party at home.  We had pumpkin soup, buggers on a stick, eyeballs, swamp punch with a severed hand and cupcakes.  You would think I would have taken pictures, but I didn't think about it:-)

Poems By Lyric

Miss Lyric was in a poem writing mood tonight!
The Scary Ghost Pumpkin
Pumpkins are orange
Ghosts are white
Some people believe you can't even see them at night.

Ghosts Watch Out
Haunted houses are better than blues
if you see a ghost
watch out because he might shout
BOO!

Fun Day at the Clinic

The kiddos celebrated Halloween at the clinic today.  Ms Sarah had princess party stuff complete with a crown.
Story Bell picked a purple cupcake.
 It was yummy!

While we were getting ready to leave the clinic Ms Sarah told us Rascal Flatts was going to be playing in just a few minutes if Story and I wanted to go.  Story wasn't supposed to be around big groups of people, so I told them we probably shouldn't go.  They said she could go if she would wear a mask.  She hates wearing masks, so she said she would rather not go.  Ms Sarah said she could get us VIP seats where Story wouldn't be near anyone else, so we decided to go.
She got a butterfly airbrushed on her cheek.
She entertained herself while waiting for them to start.
 We were sitting so close!
They sang a few songs and then we stood in a LONG line to meet them.  Before they sang I don't think Story knew who they were, but after she was willing to wear a mask and stand in a really long line to meet them.

Halloween Cookies

The girls and I made Halloween cookies tonight.

Everyone helped do the measuring and egg cracking.
Story took a little break in the middle of the baking to give us all a check up.
Lyric was really into rolling the dough out.
Cadence was really into eating the dough.
Everyone wanted to mix the icing.  They picked beautiful colors, not very Halloweeny, but beautiful.

When it was time to decorate we pulled Daddy in on the action.

Daddy got the ghost and the gingerbread man mixed up.  Story informed him that ghosts don't have buttons, so he turned it into polka dots.

The cookies turned out to be bright and beautiful!

Sister Love

Cadence and Story yelled for me to bring the camera today.  I went in the bathroom and this is what I found:
I don't know what made Cadence decide to climb on Story's lap while she was on the potty, but it sure made a cute picture!

Story's Last Night of Freedom

Story Bell had a list of things she wanted to do before she had to go on lock down for the transplant.  Tonight we were finishing up the list.  On the agenda: go out to eat as a family and go to the mall.
First, we went to O'Charlies and ate.  Then we headed to the mall.
Cadence had to go potty.  She fell in love with the potty.
 It was just her size.
We went to Claire's and bought new earrings.   Then we headed to the carousel.  The carousel was one of the biggest things Story talked about doing before the lock down.  The girls were so excited to ride, but we discovered they only take cash and unfortunately Devon and I didn't happen to have any.  We had like $3.27 between the two of us.  We needed $6.75.  Devon went to the car to try and find some change.
While he was gone the girls played at the indoor play area.

Daddy arrived with the money.  He was able to find enough change and didn't have to beg in the parking lot (which he would have done-we weren't leaving that mall until Story Bell rode the carousel!).

After the carousel the girls wanted to ride the rides, but we had no money, so they pretended.

Luckily the food court takes cards, so we had cookies.
Lyric ordered a Sprite and Cadence ordered a water. when we got to the table Devon told Cadence to taste her drink to see if it was a water or Sprite.  She took a huge drink and said, "Are my cheeks red?"  Devon said, "No."  She said, "This is water.  I'm allergic to Sprite."
She and Daddy had a drinking contest. How cute are they?

We all had a really fun night!  Tomorrow Story Bell will not be able to leave the house unless we are going to clinic.
