Sparkle's Mischief

The girls were really happy with Sparkle's the first day because she made breakfast, but they weren't too happy to see her the second day when she brought boxes and a note telling them they needed to fill the boxes with their old toys.

Story  was a little jealous the day Sparkle was a trapeze artist!  She wanted to swing from the candy cane!

They thought is was hilarious when she wrapped the toilet!
One day, she was playing some dominoes.
She made herself pretty comfortable in laundry basket.

One morning, we discovered her with the camera.  She had a good time taking pictures of herself posing around the house and with us all sleeping!

Silly elf!
She redecorated the Christmas tree with undies!
She made herself comfortable in Daddy's panties!
She had a hot date with Story's barbie, Jackson.
Unfortunately, she had a little accident when the playroom was a mess!  But, she recovered pretty quickly.
She used a koozie and made herself a hot air balloon.
We don't do the whole, "Santa is watching you" thing around here, but we sure do enjoy our elf!

Christmas 2013

Santa came!
Lyric and Story woke up and watched TV in their bed for twenty minutes or so before they woke up Cadence.  Such thoughtful girls to let the night owl sleep in:-)
 Stocking time!
Coda liked her stocking!  She didn't seem to mind that it looked pretty ghetto with her name written on it in marker.  Next year we will get you a nice stocking Sweet Girl.

Sisters decided to help.  They thought she was taking too long!
Story liked her bow and arrow that is taller than she is.
Lyric LOVED her robe and ear warmer!
Three happy girls!  Cadence was happy to finally have a place to keep her Barbies!
Story was excited to get her lap desk.
Lyric loves to widdle wood with Devon's pocket knife.  We decided to get her a knife with her name engraved on it.
She thought it was pretty cool that it had her name on it, but it's bigger than Daddy's so I don't know how much she is actually going to use it:-/

Coda didn't get to swim for Story's birthday because she didn't have a swimsuit.  I happened to see one at the dollar store recently, so I had to get it for her.

She's ready to hit the pool now!

Coda was ready for a nap when she was done with her presents:-)  Big yawn!
Story made us all presents.  She sewed Daddy a pick holder for his guitar picks.
She didn't make Cadence's present, but it was something she really wanted!
An empty box!  She LOVED it;-)
Story made Lyric a candy dish.
She even filled it with candy!
She made me a really cool mask!
She made Coda a blanket out of felt, but it didn't make it under the tree and she couldn't find it.  I told her we would find it somewhere in the house and she could give it to her then.
This was our first Christmas to not have any extended family around.  I thought it was a little lonely, but we still had a good time with the six of us.

Our Homemade Christmas 2013

Last year we started a new family tradition.  We drew names and everyone made each other a present.  This year we decided to do it again. Before we exchanged gifts the girls dressed in their new Christmas jammies and posed for pictures.

 Cadence drew Daddy's name.
I helped her sew him an apron.  She picked guitar material for the pockets.
 Lyric had Story's name.
She wrapped it in layers.  It makes the opening of the present fun for her:-)
 Sweet sister love!
I helped her sew Story a neck pillow.
Story drew Cadence's name.  This picture is blurry, but I LOVE it anyway!
Story finger knitted her some ropes.

Coda had Lyric's name.

Daddy "helped" her make Lyric a really cool piece of art for her wall.

I had Coda's name.  I sewed her a tag blanket in the shape of a 'C'.

Devon had my name.  I was expecting a song or poem because that is what he does for a living, so I thought it would have been the easiest thing for him.
But he's so awesome he thought about what I needed and made me some lotion.  He made lotion bars, regular lotion and lip balm.  It works great!
Lyric wanted to get a picture of us kissing, but she took FOREVER to take it!  She said I look like I was holding in a sneeze.  I was actually trying not to laugh she was taking so long to take the picture.
This has become one of my favorite traditions and I want us to do it for years to come.
