Foot Fun

The girls got invited to Lexi's 6th birthday.  They all went to a nail salon and had their toes done and then to eat pizza.
They actually agreed to a picture before heading out to the party.
Waiting for their pedicures.  It was hard to tell if they were having fun because I think they were both nervous.
Lyric finally got started.
I think Story looks so mad because the lady kept pulling her down in the chair.  Her poor little hiney was almost off the seat.
Story chose pink polish and had a white flower painted on her big toe.
Lyric had green polish with a white flower.  They put a stone in the middle of the flower.  She LOVED it!
Happy Birthday Lexi and thanks for an awesome party!

Pickin' and Visiting

We went to Grammy and Bob's this weekend.  Uncle Billy and Aunt Kendra came over, so we got to visit with them all.  I only took one picture!  Cadence wanted a turn holding Wade.  He is getting so big!
The girls had a good time picking vegetables out of Bob's garden.  His is like a jungle compared to our puny little garden.Story Bell wanted to pose with her squash.
Cadence helped too.
I'm not sure how much of this basket Grammy picked.
As soon as Cadence brought her tomato in she wanted to eat it!  I guess she figures if you are going to go to the trouble of picking it you should get to eat it:-)
YUM!

"Moo!" Says the Cow

Our playgroup visited the Texas Jersey Cheese Company in La Grange.
We got to see the Blue Bell cow. The kiddos stood watching a group of cows grazing. They got to see a couple of them pee. They thought it was pretty cool to see, but they didn't like the smell too much. They got to feed lots of animals. There were donkeys, goats, bunnies, a sheep, ducks, chickens, pigs and turkey. The goat feeding didn't go very well with the girls, as usual;-) They did like feeding all of the others. We also got the feed a baby calf. The girls really enjoyed that! I helped Story while Lyric took pictures. Story and I had a pretty good hold on the bottle, but the calf managed to get it away from us.We went on a hay ride down to where they do the milking. The girls said the hay ride was their favorite part. Not mine, it was hot!We all got to milk the cow. I was surprised Story tried it. It was right up Lyric's alley. I really wanted to try it, so I talked Cadence into giving it a try. She wasn't real enthusiastic about it. We headed back to the barn for lunch. Baby Cadence and Miss Lyric posed for a picture.
Giddy up, horsey!
Prettiest cow I ever saw!
We had some ice cream, bought our cheese and headed to Grammy's for the weekend.

We visited this farm in November of '06. Baby Cadence wasn't born yet and the girls were so little!

Lyric was the same height as the calf:-)

She didn't even have to squat to milk it!

Story Bell was just toddling around.

Snickerdoodle Ice Cream Sandwiches

The girls and I made snickerdoodle ice cream sandwiches today. They were pretty yummy! We made the cookies and then topped them with caramel and Dulce de Leche ice cream. I think if we did these again we would just crush the cookie and make a sundae with it, they were pretty messy!

New Goggles

Lyric, Story and I got new goggles for the pool. Cadence and Story modeled them before we went to the pool today.

HEB- Where Everything is Better!

Our playgroup had a field trip at HEB today. I had arranged for Daddy to stay home with Cadence because it would be easier for me to handle two kiddos at the store rather than three and I really didn't think she would get that much out of it. Well, the big girls and I left and she threw a fit! We got a couple of minutes down the road and Daddy called us to come back and pick them up. Being the youngest of three he knew exactly what she was feeling.HEB was awesome! They gave the kiddos a tour of the store with snacks along the way.
Miss Lyric modeling her crown. HE Buddy came out to meet the kiddos and took a group picture with us all. The big girls went up to meet HE Buddy. But Cadence wanted no part of him!
Story got a hug. We had smoothies as an example of a healthy snack.
Smoothies give you strong muscles! Our first stop on the tour was the bakery. We got to see how they slice bread. The girls watched closely.Cadence gave Daddy a turn with her crown. We moved on to the tortilla maker. Not only did we learn how tortillas are made we learned how to say hello in Chinese. Watching the tortillas go on a roller coaster ride.Daddy really didn't like the crown on his head, so Cadence let him try it out on his ear. Story sampling a fresh tortilla. I honestly don't think there is a better food on the planet! Hey girls, look over here so I can take your picture. J gets that concept, Miss Lyric, not so much. In the produce section we practiced our colors. Can you find something orange? They paid close attention to the talk about fruits and vegetables being healthy. We met Sam the Lobster. Lyric touched him, but Story and Cadence kept their distance.
Cadence, are you sure you don't want to touch the lobster? We ended our tour with a visit to the milk cooler. It was COLD in there! All the kiddos received a group picture and a goody bag. We all had a great time!
