Omlet Maker

Story had a neuro psych appointment this morning.  Devon had lunch made for us when we got home.  Story didn't want to eat what he made, so she made herself an omlet.
She put spinach, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper and cheese.  She couldn't wait to dig in.  Can you tell? :-)

Little Chef

Cadence was helping me peel potatoes tonight, but soon decided it was too hard for her.  She asked if she could make a fruit salad because, "I'm really good at cutting fruit and Lyric even taught me to cut the leaves off of strawberries!"
She got the fruit out that she wanted in her salad- an apple, a banana, strawberries, blueberries and blackberries.  Daddy washed it for her and she got to work.   I used the apple slicer for her, but she did everything else.

One proud little girl and a yummy fruit salad!

House Full of Bakers

Last year we started a sugar cookie tradition at Grammy's.  This year we had 12 kiddos there!
They all lined up to have a turn adding ingredients and using the mixer.

Addison has food allergies, so she had her own dough.  No one wanted to use the epipen, so we kept her far away from the other ingredients.

Tessa was there to help out.
Everyone had fun picking out their cookie cutters and cutting out the cookies.

There was lots of icing and sprinkles for the decorating.

Good times and great memories!

Little Cookers

Cadence and Story decided they wanted to help cool tonight.  We were making this recipe.
Cadence decided she wanted to use the little chopper for the onions.

Story wanted to do it the old fashioned way.  Until she saw how fast our way was:-)  As soon as she was  done with the onion she went and washed her hands with toothpaste.  Grammy told her it helps with the smell.

Story cooks all the time with Daddy, so she is getting pretty good.
Cadence worked on this can for a good three minutes before asking for help!
Hmm?
Such concentration!
A little sister love when they were done helping.
Kisses too!
Love those eyes!  If her face is facing the camera she thinks she is looking.
Our food actually turned out pretty good.  At least Devon and I thought so.  Story tried it, Lyric pretended to try it and Cadence took one look and didn't even bother sitting down at the table.

Pretty Pancake

Cadence decided she wanted to make pancakes this morning.  Cadence can't make pancakes without adding some color.
She did some green and orange.
 She also made some purple.
 Proud girl!
She decided to use the cookie cutters on Story's.  She made her a fish and put some waves behind it.

Doin' a Little Bakin'

One of the nurses at the hospital gave Story a cookie baking kit, so we decided to try it out today.  She and Cadence had a good time baking the cookies.
Lyric joined in for the decorating.
They had icing, sprinkles, red hots and princess gel pens.
 They turned out beautiful!
 Lyric's gingerbread man for Daddy.

Smoothie Queens

The girls have had a new passion lately for making smoothies. On this particular day Lyric and Cadence decided to whip up a strawberry smoothie.
I love that Cadence thought she needed her apron and hat, but not a stitch of clothes:-)
They took turns pressing the buttons on the blender.
Yummy, enjoying the fruit of their labor.
Best sisters!

Chocolate Sugar Cookies for the Sick Girl

Story has been really sick this week! Today she wanted to bake cookies, so that's what we did. We decided on Chocolate Sugar Cookies. She and Cadence enjoyed licking the beaters.
The cookies turned out really good, but poor little Story Bell was too sick to even have one.

Chicken Caesar Wrap

Lyric decided she wanted to help cook tonight. We were having Chicken Caesar Wraps. She really enjoyed cutting up the chicken:-)
Are you impressed, she was half dressed?
The final product turned out pretty yummy!

Halloween Cookies

The girls and I decided to make Halloween cookies today. The big girls bailed at the last minute, so it was just Cadence and I. We were about to get started and I realized I didn't have the camera. I had all of the ingredients laid out and I really didn't want to come back to a broken egg on the floor or flour thrown everywhere, so I told her to put her hands on her head. This is what I saw when I came back into the room.
Yes, I do know she is naked and she is sitting on my counter. That is just how we roll around here. She is getting to be quite the little egg cracker! But she does HATE getting it on her hands!

She had a really good time with the mixer, as long as I had my hand on it too. If I let go she would all of a sudden be terrified of it. She had to lick the spatula, that is the best part isn't it? Sisters rejoined us when it was time to cut the cookies out. We made ghosts, bats, pumpkins, and black cats. Everybody used the rolling pin. After baking it was time to put the icing on. Each girl picked a color. Lyric chose orange, Story chose purple and Cadence picked blue. Such festive Halloween colors:-)

Lyric's Masterpiece

Cadence would put a little but of icing and say, "Mama, I can eat it now?" The finished products. Enjoying the fruit of our labor!
