Ema the Elephant

Story has always enjoyed sewing.  So, I bought her a stuffed animal pattern for her birthday.  I have never sewn a stuffed animal, so this was a learning experience for both of us!
We have been working on it off and on for about a month now.  Tonight we finally finished him.
I didn't get any pictures of Story sewing it because sits between my legs, so I can help guide the fabric.
But I did get some of her adding the stuffing.

That's the most fun part, right?!?
 All done!
 It turned out really cute!
When we first started this project she said she was going to sew one to donate to the hospital, but this little guy took us so long to complete I'm not sure if that is still her plan.

Cadence decided to join in on the sewing fun.  She cut pieces of felt and pinned them together for me to sew.  She made herself a cute little man.  Too cleaver:-)

Valentine's Day Fun

I decided to send the girls on a scavenger hunt for Valentine's Day today.  There was a small treat with each clue and a bigger present at the end.

Each clue had a silly little riddle they had to solve to send them to the next clue.

The final present was a mini donut maker.  I thought the girls would enjoy being able to make our own donuts.
We tried it out right after we opened it.  We made some plain with sprinkles and
some dipped in chocolate with sprinkles.  They were good, but a little heavy.  I plan to try a different recipe next time to see if we can find something a little lighter.  They were fun to make!
This afternoon we made homemade kool aid playdough.
We've made playdough a few times, but this was our first time to make it with kool aid.
 It turned out really well!
It had a nice consistency and smelled really good!

The girls had a great time playing with it!

Daddy the Baker

I took Lyric to work with me this afternoon and the other two girls were not too happy about it!  To make them feel better Daddy decided to bake sugar cookies with them.
They were really good!

Omlet Maker

Story had a neuro psych appointment this morning.  Devon had lunch made for us when we got home.  Story didn't want to eat what he made, so she made herself an omlet.
She put spinach, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper and cheese.  She couldn't wait to dig in.  Can you tell? :-)

Home Depot Kid's Workshop- Valentine's Mailboxes

Today we took the girls to Home Depot to make Valentine's Mailboxes.  This is the second Kid's Workshop we have attended.  The girls had a great time!

I was helping Cadence and we put out nails in the wrong side of the wood on one part, so she had to take the out.

They were so proud when they were done!
 Story painted hers tonight.
Good, free fun-can't beat it!
