Typical Friday Night
The girls had some frozen pizza and watched a movie tonight while Devon and I watched Dateline. This is what Friday night usually looks like around here.
Don't you just love Story's hat? She's been asking for a hat for awhile now. Devon told her when she found one under $10.00 he would buy it. She's worn it everyday since she got it! Even with her jammies:-)

I Love Unschooling!
I know I've said it before, but I love Unschooling! Almost every day my kids do or say something that shows me we've made the right decision for our family.
Story NEVER uses punctuation! I think it's kind of a defiance thing for her, "You're supposed to do this - well, I'm not going to!" It drives Lyric crazy! She tells her all the time that she needs to use punctuation, but I rarely bring it up unless I'm telling her I can't read something she has written.
I recently found a Facebook page set up for homeschoolers to find pen pals. Lyric and Story both found their first pen pal.
Story wrote her letter today. She sat down to write it and said, "Mama, will you help me with the punctuation? I want her to know what I'm trying to say."
There was no arguing or fighting about how important punctuation is, but when it was important to her she decided to use it:-)

Little Mommy
Tonight Jenny from The Jamboree offered to watch the kiddos so I could go and watch Devon play. They had a great time, except Coda was sleepy and didn't want to go to sleep for Jenny. Lyric rocked her for a couple of hours until we got back. I think Coda was super tired because we had had a long day at clinic and then she went to Jenny's, so this morning at 4:00 she woke up screaming! She's has never done this before and I didn't really know what to do. I tried the boob, rocking, standing, Devon...nothing worked! It happened to be Lyric's turn to sleep with Coda and I, so she was in the bed with us. Coda pushed me away and crawled over to Lyric. I'm not sure why, but all she wanted was her big sister!
Lyric held her until she fell asleep around 5:30. Such a lucky baby to have big sisters who love her so much!

Story Bell's Check-Up
Story had her six month check up today. Devon was working, so all the girls went to the appointment. That was an adventure:-) Everything looked great! I asked about her weight because Cadence has officially passed her on the scale. Cadence weighs 52 pounds and Story only weighs 48. She has grown in height, so the doctors said they weren't worried. She is probably just going to be tall and skinny. She was skinny precancer, so I guess that is just her body type.
We go back in the middle of November for the big appointment where they check everything out. It will be her four year anniversary! That's hard to believe!

Transportation Playdate
Today we went downtown with our playgroup and learned about transportation. We learned about the circuit buses downtown. Then we rode one to the fountains and played.
The bus driver gave all the kiddos lollipops.
This was our first time to play in the fountains. The girls loved it!
Coda even got in on the action!
Lyric made a new friend. I think she enjoyed hanging out with someone older. She's usually with kids her age or younger, so it was nice to see her chatting with Jade:-)
We played in the fountains, had a picnic and rode the circuit bus to the candy store.

Lyric and Lilly |
Justin, Lilly and Rowan joined us at the candy store and then we walked down to the river to enjoy our treats. The girls ate their candy, rolled down the hill and looked out at the river.
Cadence enjoyed her chocolate:-) After our candy, we walked over and met up with Devon and rode the Ida Clair back to the car. Two buses in one day! It was a full, but fun day!

Hanging With Friends
The girls had History Club this morning. After I picked them up we met Mandy and her crew at the zoo. While we were there we had to visit the lorikeets, Lyric's favorite.
They were really active today! One landed on Coda's head, but I wasn't quick enough with my phone to get a picture. But we were able to get a few good picts :-)
After we left the zoo the girls and I went over to Aldi to pick up a pizza for dinner. They talked me into ice cream too. Coda and I shared one. I love the expression on her face in this picture!
She got a little messy;-)

Silly Selfies
Daddy took the big girls to play tennis this afternoon. He sent us some pictures of them on the court, so Cadence decided we should send him some pictures of us. We took a few silly selfies.
I love that toothless girl;-)
