The girls and I decided to walk to the mailbox after the rain today. Well, actually the rain wasn't quite over, so we got a little wet, but it was fun! Caba and KK gave Cadence her birthday present while we were in Lubbock. We decided to try it out today. Story rode her tricycle to the mailbox for the first time, Lyric rode her bike and I pushed Cadence. On the way back Story started to struggle a little, so Cadence and I stopped to wait on her.

Driving Home
We left Lubbock around 11:00 Sunday morning. Before going KK and the girls put on a puppet show while Devon and I packed up our stuff.
Caba and Cadence stood by the road waving to the cars. She did it, but I'm not sure she was really sure about it!
We had this great idea to visit Brownwood State Park on the way home. We thought it would be a great place to get out and walk around and visit the park in case we ever wanted to camp there. Let me just give you a little advice... Brownwood State Park is in the middle of nowhere! It took us like an hour to drive out to it (maybe not really an hour, but it felt like an hour!). We got there and the girls didn't even want to get out of the car they were going to just have left over pizza.
They eventually changed their minds and decided to get out and throw some rocks in the lake.
Lyric found a shell.
Story showed us she knew how to stand on her head.
Cadence was cute as always! We stayed here an hour or so and then hit the road for home. I had bought the girls some pipe cleaners to play with while driving, but I think I enjoyed them more than they did!The rest of the drive was pretty uneventful. Cadence spent a lot of her time like this:

The Wedding
So, we drove nine hours to get to Lubbock for the big wedding. We got to see approximately 3 1/2 minutes of it! The big girls were doing awesome, but Cadence wouldn't be quiet. She wasn't mad, just in a really good mood. Devon and the girls decided to go outside. Then Da brought Blaine, the cutest ring bearer ever, to me. So we spent our time practicing our balance, playing catch with our baby,
and posing for pictures.
I am sure it was a beautiful ceremony Marshall and Kelly! We really enjoyed the 3 1/2 minutes we saw of it! To be honest with three children age four and under we didn't really expect to see it all:-)
I thought the girls would really like the reception. Who doesn't like cake and dancing? They were being really shy and wanted to leave not long after we got there. At one point we all went outside to feed Cadence. Story came walking up with some flowers she picked (roots and all). Doesn't she look proud! We told her how beautiful they were and made her promise she wouldn't do that again.
It was a beautiful wedding and reception! Marshall and Kelly, we wish you the best!

Friday in Lubbock
We were all a pretty worn out from our drive yesterday, but the girls were up bright and early. We decided to drive over to Levelland to visit Mamaw and Da. I didn't take any pictures, but we had a nice visit. I hope they don't think our children are too wild! Luckily the girls slept on the way back from Levelland which was nice, but it wasn't long enough. We knew if we went back to the hotel and tried to get them out they would wake up, so we decided to drive around the loop. Lubbock is not a very big town, so you can imagine the excitement for Devon and I driving around and around for an hour!
Friday evening we went over to Nathan and Keely's for burgers. It has been so long since we have seen them! I found a couple of pictures from our last visit in September of '06 the kids were so little!
Story was just a baby!
Lyric, Ella and Spencer were all so little! Too CUTE! Nathan and Devon grilled up some burgers while playing horseshoes. Keely and I were a little worried we were going to have a URCooks repeat, but they did good. The burgers were great!
The kiddos played on the play scape and jumped on the trampoline.

The Big Trip to Lubbock
We left for Lubbock on Thursday afternoon. Our plan was to leave at 8:00 at night, but anyone who has meet us knows that we don't always stick to the plan. We went to the pool in the morning, had lunch and then had nothing else to do. So, we decided to hit the road! Why? I have no idea. It would have been so much easier to travel while the girls were sleeping. But after about nine hours on the road, we made it.
I had wrapped the girls about 6 presents each. When they would start wanting out I would pull out a present. They would open it and play with it for about five minutes and then be ready to get out of their seats again!
We left around 2:45 in the afternoon and I gave them their first present a coloring/activity book and crayons. Yes, Lyric is just wearing panties. She was wearing a dress and as soon as she got in the car she took it off. I don't know why, I guess she wanted to be comfortable... whatever works for ya!
We took our first rest stop outside of Brownwood at about 4:40. We had a snack and walked around a little. When we were sitting on the picnic table we noticed a birds nest on the roof. We then noticed an egg on the picnic table. It was sad to see the cracked egg, but daddy assured the girls that there were probably some eggs that did make it.
We went to Wal Mart in Brownwood. I don't really remember why, but the girls enjoyed looking at the toys. Lyric has been wanting some diving sticks, so we picked some up. We thought we could use them at the hotel pool. Little did I know they would come in handy in the car! I am sure they are safe for the one year old to chew on, right?Surly they are safe for the two year old to chew on too, right? They also make great juggling sticks!
The girls did sleep some on the way, but not near as much as I would have liked!
We finally rolled into Lubbock about 11:30. Thankfully Story and Cadence were sleeping, but not Lyric. Miss Lyric caught a second wind when we got there. She kept walking around the hotel saying how nice our "house" was and how big it was! It was after midnight when she and daddy finally went to sleep.
